Position Overview:
As a Community Manager, you will play a dynamic, cross-functional role that blends education, community engagement, and innovation. You will build and nurture the school community by fostering engagement among students, parents, teachers, and external partners around the school's thematic identity and Makerspace-driven learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement & Culture Building
Build a strong internal school culture aligned with the school's central theme and purpose.Create and manage events that bring students, parents, and teachers togetherAct as a bridge between parents and the school community - ensuring communication is consistent, meaningful and inclusive
Community Engagement & Partnerships
Cultivate strong relationships with parents, local businesses, industry professionals, and nonprofit organizations.Lead the planning and execution of community events such as Maker Fairs, parent-student days, exhibitions and thematic festivals.Represent the school in community forums, education events or conferencesCultivate relationships with local media, tech hubs and parent volunteersDevelop partnerships that support thematic learning and makerspace initiatives (e.g., mentorships, guest speakers.Organize community events like Maker Fairs, Open Labs, and Innovation Nights.
Communication & Storytelling
Promote the school's identity and innovation culture to internal and external audiences.Showcase student-centered learning through clubs, competitions and passion projects using the makerspace
Showcasing the Makerspace
Curate and highlight student projects from the Makerspace to celebrate creativity and applied learningOrganise Maker days/Hackathons/Demo Days to showcase innovationsHelp integrate community mentors (e.g tech professionals, local artisans) into makerspace programmingDocument and publish student learning journeys - video reels, blogs.
Professional Experience:
5-8 years of experience in community engagement, admissions, parent relations, communications, program management, or educational leadership.Prior experience in schools, early childhood centres, NGOs, sustainability-focused organisations, museums, experiential learning spaces, or cultural institutions is highly desirable.Demonstrated experience in managing events, building partnerships, coordinating community programs, or handling parent-facing roles.Experience in working with diverse stakeholders - parents, educators, community partners, NGOs, creatives, or external vendors.A strong track record in content creation, storytelling, or communication strategy is a plus.
