QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
B.E. / B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering. MBA / PGDBM preferred.
Professional Experience:
Minimum 20-25 years in manufacturing operations, with at least 8-10 years in Senior Leadership / COO / Plant Head role in heavy engineering, sheet-metal fabrication, or automotive sector.
Domain Expertise:
End-to-end manufacturing operations, Automation & Robotics, Fabrication (cutting, bending, welding, assembly), Paint Shop (liquid & powder), TPM, Lean Manufacturing.
Certifications:
Lean Six Sigma, TPM / JIPM certification, PMP / Operations Excellence certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Leadership:
Proven track record of managing multi-plant operations with >1000 employees, driving safety, productivity, and culture.
Automation & Robotics:
Hands-on leadership in deploying robotic welding, CNC machining, PLC / SCADA systems, MES, and smart factory practices.
Fabrication Excellence:
Deep knowledge of sheet metal, heavy fabrication, cutting, welding, assembly lines, and quality systems.
Paint Shop Management:
Experience in running high-volume paint shops, ensuring productivity, environmental compliance, and quality finish.
Global Exposure:
Experience in meeting international customer standards (Siemens, ABB, Toshiba, etc.), and handling audits from global OEMs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Leadership:
Oversee daily operations across fabrication, automation, paint shop, assembly, and dispatch. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets (SQDC).
Automation & Smart Manufacturing:
Drive automation roadmap, implement Industry 4.0 (SCADA, MES, IoT), robotic welding, and digital dashboards for plant KPIs.
Fabrication & Paint Shop:
Optimise fabrication lines (cutting, bending, welding, assembly). Improve paint shop efficiency, reduce rework, ensure EHS compliance.
Strategic Planning:
Align manufacturing operations with 5-year business growth plan, capacity expansion, and capex projects.
Cost & Productivity:
Lead cost reduction, OEE improvements, energy efficiency, and resource optimization.
People Leadership:
Build, coach, and empower plant leadership team. Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Customer Orientation:
Ensure timely deliveries, customer satisfaction, and zero-defect supplies to global clients.
TOOLS & TECHNOLOGIES:
Automation & Robotics: FANUC, ABB, KUKA robotic systems; PLC/SCADA (Siemens, Allen Bradley); MES platforms.
Fabrication Systems: CNC cutting, VMC, bending, resistance welding, MIG/MAG/TIG welding lines.
Paint Shop: Electrostatic painting, powder coating, CED coating, ETP/STP compliance.
ERP & Analytics: SAP/Oracle, Power BI/Tableau for manufacturing dashboards.
Lean & TPM Tools: 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, OEE, JIT, Six Sigma.

The Chief of Staff will act as a strategic advisor and execution partner to the CEO / Managing Director , driving organisational efficiency, governance, and transformation initiatives across Hi-Tech's multiple business units. The role blends business strategy, financial planning, and operational excellence with a consulting-driven approach to accelerate growth and ensure seamless execution of enterprise priorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic & Financial Governance
Partner with the CEO / Managing Director to develop and monitor strategic roadmaps, business plans, and performance metrics.Oversee corporate financial dashboards, MIS, and strategic investment analyses.Support key capital and M&A initiatives including IPO readiness, business diversification, and expansion strategies.Evaluate financial performance of divisions and drive cross-functional cost optimization programs.Act as the financial conscience of key strategic decisions and ensure risk-adjusted returns.
Consulting & Transformation
Bring structured problem-solving methodologies and consulting best practices to drive transformation.Work on end-to-end business improvement initiatives across multi-regional plants and business verticals.Build execution frameworks for productivity, automation, and digital transformation.Lead special projects directly under the CEO / Managing Director 's Office (e.g., strategic tie-ups, partnerships, investor presentations).
Program & Operational Excellence
Ensure alignment between strategy and execution across all business heads.Track milestones, deliverables, and dependencies across key strategic programs.Prepare executive dashboards, management briefs, and board-level presentations.Coordinate multi-plant, multi-location initiatives with clear accountability frameworks.
Stakeholder & Communication Management
Serve as an interface between the CEO / Managing Director , internal leadership, and external stakeholders.Lead investor communication, key partnership reviews, and high-impact management meetings.Manage confidential business information with discretion and maturity.PROFILE REQUIREMENTS:
Qualification: MBA (Finance) or CA with an Engineering degree - non negotiable.
Experience: 8-10 years with a reputed consulting organisation (Big 4 or equivalent) handling strategic, financial, or operational mandates.
Competencies: Strong financial and analytical acumen, business transformation mindset, program management capability, and board-level communication skills.
ADDITIONAL CRITERIA:
Must have handled multi-regional locations and be well-travelled across business geographies.Possess deep understanding of money markets and act as a smart investor with a personal net worth of 3.00 crore or more.Residence: Preferably staying in Mumbai - Worli / Bandra region or nearby.Exposure to IPO, corporate finance, and investor relations preferred.Proven track record of executive collaboration, business foresight, and organizational governance.REPORTING & IMPACT:
