What the role entails
Solar Equipment Sourcing:Identify suitable vendors and procure solar-specific equipment and consumables essential for plant functionality (modules, panels, inverters, trackers, CSP mirrors, cabling, spare parts, specialized tools, PPE's etc)Service Provider Identification and Management:Identify and manage service providers specialized in solar plant O&M, including the appointment of vendors for tasks such as regular cleaning, inspection, repair, overhauling and technical support for both PV and CSP plants Managing PR-PO Processes and approvals:Oversee the PR to PO process, including eNFA approvals, ensure strict adherence to the organisational P2P policy and maintain optimal TAT for PR-PO transactions Vendor Relationship Building:Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers, ensuring reliable procurement channels and consistent qualityCost Optimization & securing favourable terms:Develop cost-effective procurement strategies, conducting internal costing assessment, negotiating competitive prices, exploring alternate suppliers, and ensuring optimal terms and conditions in favour of the companyCollaboration and Communication:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, effectively communicating with Asset Management and site teams to align procurement strategies with project objectives Preparation of MIS Develop and maintain detailed MIS reports for solar function to effectively track procurement status, encompassing budget versus actual expenditure analysis, offers status, and procurement progress updatesRole Demands (travel) - Occasional

Role Summary
Manage and develop electrical engineering/design for Substations.

Key Role Deliverables
Role in Engineering:
Substation up to 765kV level, Primary Engineering activities like preparing SLD, electrical plan layout, section layout, clearance diagram, earth-mat layout, lightning protection (DSLP) layout etc.
Must be well versed in doing and reviewing electrical engineering calculations applicable in a substation like short circuit forces, sag tension, DSLP, earthing design, voltage drop in LT cables, LT/HT cable sizing, rigid and flexible busbar sizing, battery sizing, etc.
Substation secondary engineering activities like protection SLD, understanding of all types of protection of transmission lines, transformers/reactors, preparing power and control cable schedules, reviewing the control and protection drawings, etc.
Substation tertiary engineering activities like preparing auxiliary system LT SLD, knowledge of DG Set, etc.
Detailed knowledge of substation equipments like circuit breakers, current transformers, capacitive voltage transformer, power transformer, reactors, wave traps, lightning arresters, isolators, etc.
Candidate should be able to review all the drawings related to each equipments be it GA, Schematics, type test reports, etc. along with their GTP.
Should have fluent hands-on experience in AutoCAD and MS Office.
Having brief knowledge of civil aspects of substation like CRB, FFPH, Oil pits, Cable Trenches, Roads, Relay panel rooms etc. is admirable.
Preparing the Technical Specification for the complete substation and its equipments for augmentation in our existing substations.
Providing technical support to the Bidding team in providing the BOQ of major items and lot items for their cost estimation during the tender stage.
Knowledge of all the applicable standards like IEC, IEEE, ANSI and IS along with CEA regulations and guidelines for a substation including fire safety standards.
Role in Acquisition of Substations in Operation:
Leading in Technical Due diligence in all aspects before acquiring the assets.
Managing & Active monitoring of projects from Engineering perspective and solving O&M problems.
Coordinating with cross functional teams and understanding construction feasibility, checking and approval of design drawings related to Electrical Engineering domain.
Must be open for visiting the sites, pan-India, for due diligence at site level.
Ensuring availability of all design documents & Drawings during asset purchase/transfer.
Role in Operation & Maintenance of our Substation and Solar Assets:
Supporting the site teams in troubleshooting their issues in the operations.
Reviewing and discussing the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of failures occurring at the Substations and Solar Plants
Travel Required - Occasional - about 20% of time

Strong knowledge of Substation standards and its applicability.
Proficient in Auto cad 2D,.
