Job Summary
The MEP Engineer is responsible for planning, execution, coordination, and supervision of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works at the project site. The role ensures that MEP systems are installed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Execution
Review MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQsCoordinate with civil and architectural teams for smooth executionPlan and supervise installation of HVAC, electrical, firefighting, plumbing, and ELV systemsEnsure work is executed as per approved shop drawings and method statementsSite Supervision & Coordination
Supervise MEP subcontractors and vendorsCoordinate with consultants and client representativesAttend coordination meetings and resolve site issues/clashesEnsure timely availability of materials and manpowerQuality & Safety
Ensure compliance with quality standards, IS codes, and project specificationsConduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of MEP systemsEnsure adherence to safety norms and proceduresDocumentation & Reporting
Prepare daily and weekly progress reportsMaintain inspection requests (IRs), test reports, and as-built drawingsSupport preparation of RA bills and certification of MEP worksTesting & Commissioning
Assist in testing, balancing, and commissioning of MEP systemsCoordinate handover documentation and O&M manualsQualifications
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical EngineeringMEP certification or equivalent training preferredExperience
4- 5 years of experience in MEP works for civil construction projects.Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects preferred.Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, firefighting, and ELVAbility to read and interpret drawings and specificationsProficiency in AutoCAD and MS OfficeGood coordination and communication skillsProblem-solving and site management abilitiesPreferred Attributes
Experience handling MEP subcontractorsKnowledge of local authority approvals and codesFamiliarity with testing & commissioning procedures
