Job Summary
The FlexSim Simulation Engineer is responsible for developing, analyzing, and optimizing full-scale factory and production system models using FlexSim. The role involves building accurate digital twins of manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing operations; evaluating performance; identifying bottlenecks; and proposing data-driven improvements. The engineer will work closely with production, process, and R&D teams to support decision-making and operational optimization.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop detailed simulation models of entire factories, production lines, internal logistics, and automation systems using FlexSim.
• Collect, validate, and integrate operational data (cycle times, routing logic, resource behavior, inventory flows, etc.) into simulation models.
• Analyze model outputs to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and system constraints.
• Evaluate different scenarios, layouts, and process strategies to determine optimal configurations.
• Prepare technical reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, planning, and industrial optimization teams to drive improvements.
• Support the development of digital twins and continuous-improvement simulations for long-term operational planning.
• Validate models through on-site observations, data comparison, and stakeholder feedback.
• Maintain and update existing FlexSim models as facility operations evolve.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience (2-5+ years) in full-factory simulation modeling using FlexSim.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, workflows, automation equipment, and material-handling processes.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in optimization and scenario evaluation.
• Proficiency in FlexSim logic, process flow design, scripting, and statistical analysis tools.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, throughput analysis, and capacity planning is preferred.
• Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with data collection, SQL, Excel, or Python is a plus.
