    Job Overview

    The Data Science & Analytics Capability Lead is a senior leadership role responsible for raising the technical depth and solution maturity across MathCo's analytics engagements.


    This role exists to:

    Provide expert guidance on complex analytical problems across accountsStrengthening solution architecture for industry-level problemsEngage with senior customer stakeholders as a technical thought partnerLead and mentor a pool of high-caliber SMEs who are embedded across client engagementsOwn and drive revenue generated from this capability through billed SME deploymentsBuild reusable analytical frameworks, accelerators, and best practicesSupport learning and development of analytics talent across the organizationAct as the technical conscience of the organization, ensuring rigor, innovation, and quality


    Job Responsibilities


    Technical Leadership Across Accounts

    Provide advisory support to accounts facing complex modeling and analytics challenges (e.g., MMM, MTA, Forecasting, Pricing, Retail Media Measurement, Causal Inference, Bayesian modeling, Neural Networks etc.)Review and strengthen analytical approaches, model structures, and solution logicBe the go-to expert for problem statements that require depth beyond standard playbooks


    Senior Customer Stakeholder Engagement

    Engage directly with senior client stakeholders (Director/VP/Head of Analytics, Marketing Science, Revenue Growth, etc.) as a technical leaderRepresent MathCo's analytical depth in critical client conversations, workshops, and solution discussionsBuild credibility and trust through strong analytical articulation and problem solvingSupport accounts in translating complex analytics into business-relevant narratives for leadership audiences


    Own and Grow the SME Capability Revenue

    Build and manage a pool of high-caliber SMEs deployed across accountsDrive billed utilization of SMEs embedded in client engagementsOwn the revenue generated from this capabilityEnsure SMEs are deployed where they create maximum client and commercial impactTrack and manage capability pipeline, utilization, and revenue performance


    Solution Design, Pilot Success & Pipeline Conversion

    Partner with Growth, Presales, and Account teams to design solutions for complex RFPs and problem statementsLead analytical solutioning for pilot and high-stakes projectsConvert successful pilots and technical interventions into scaled engagementsActively contribute to conversion of sales pipeline through technical credibility


    Build Analytical Assets & Frameworks

    Develop reusable solution frameworks for key industry problemsCreate modeling templates, code accelerators, and best practice playbooksStandardize high-quality analytical approaches across teams


    Quality & Rigor Champion

    Act as the review authority for high-impact analytical solutionsImprove analytical storytelling, documentation, and model defensibilityRaise the bar for what "good" looks like at MathCo


    Learning & Development Leadership

    Partner with L&D to design capability development programs Conduct internal workshops, masterclasses, and technical forumsCreate learning pathways, reference materials, and case studies from real engagementsMentor senior data scientists and emerging technical leaders across the organization


    Thought Leadership & Innovation

    Stay ahead of emerging analytical techniques Drive adoption of modern modeling approaches across teamsRepresent MathCo's analytical thought leadership internally and externally

    Required Experience & Skills


    Experience

    Over 12+ years of experience in advanced analytics and data scienceDeep experience in solving complex business problems using modeling and analyticsExperience working across multiple industries - CPG, Retail etc.Experience across multiple verticals - Marketing, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance etc.Experience mentoring senior data scientists and technical teamsExperience of global delivery setup across US, Europe and/or Asia Pacific


    Technical Expertise (strong depth across all or several of these)

    Marketing Mix Modeling, Attribution, Causal InferencePricing & Elasticity modelingForecasting & time-series modelingBayesian methods, hierarchical models, state-space modelsMachine Learning & statistical modelingPython and modern data science stackNeural Networks, Deep Learning, Transformers etc.Familiarity with GenAI applications in analytics (preferred)


    Leadership & Influence

    Strong mentoring and coaching capabilityAbility to influence different teams and accounts across the orgStrong solution design and analytical storytelling skillsAbility to simplify complex business problems and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholdersProvide transparency and value reports to executive leadership
