A) About the Role
Mercados requires a Tariff Expert who shall be responsible for preparation, filing and follow-up of Tariff Petitions, Multi-Year Tariff (MYT) Petitions, True-up Petitions and Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) filings for Distribution Utilities. The role shall involve end-to-end tariff analysis including power purchase cost, transmission and wheeling charges, distribution and AT&C losses, subsidy requirements, regulatory assets and carrying cost, in accordance with applicable regulations, tariff policies and prevailing regulatory practices. The Tariff Expert shall also be responsible for drafting and submission of replies to deficiency notes, responses to stakeholder objections and compliance filings before the Appropriate Commission, along with interpretation and application of Regulations, Tariff Orders, True-up Orders and prepare comments on regulatory amendments issued by SERC/CERC/CEA/MoP. Further, the role shall include preparation of regulatory notes, concept papers, issue briefs and presentations for senior management and for representation in regulatory proceedings, meetings and workshops.

The Senior Manager / Manager - Management Consultant will be reporting to the Project Leader and shall be responsible for effective execution of regulatory and tariff-related assignments. The key (broadly indicative) expectations shall be as below:
Maintain continuous oversight of energy policies, regulations, tariff frameworks and incentive mechanisms, with specific focus on power distribution, power procurement and renewable energy integration. Lead preparation and submission of regulatory comments, responses and analytical notes on tariff petitions, true-up filings and related proceedings filed by distribution companies and other stakeholders.Analyze policy implications, assess their impact on project development and provide recommendations to clients. Develop Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR), Multi-Year Tariff (MYT) and True-up petitions, including validation of input data received from client departments and alignment with applicable regulatory provisions. Work closely with clients to understand their requirements, provide consulting services and deliver solutions aligned with their objective of the assignment.
