Job Summary
The Maintenance Head - Electrical will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring all electrical maintenance activities at the plant to ensure uninterrupted production, equipment reliability, safety compliance, and cost-effective operations. The role involves leading the electrical maintenance team, managing preventive and breakdown maintenance, and ensuring adherence to statutory and safety norms within a railway manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Electrical Maintenance Department at the plant.Plan and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for all electrical systems and equipment.Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of:HT & LT panelsTransformers, DG sets, and power distribution systemsMotors, VFDs, PLC panels, and control systemsPlant lighting, earthing, and cable networksCoordinate with production, quality, and safety teams to minimize downtime.Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives.Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, statutory regulations, and audits.Maintain and update maintenance records, logs, and SOPs.Handle AMC contracts, spares planning, inventory control, and vendor management.Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major electrical failures and implement corrective actions.Support new project installations, commissioning, and plant expansions.Train and develop the electrical maintenance team to improve skill levels and productivity.Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of electrical systems in manufacturing plantsExperience in railway manufacturing / heavy engineering / infrastructure industriesHands-on experience with HT/LT operations, transformers, DG sets, PLCs, VFDsKnowledge of safety standards, electrical acts, and complianceStrong leadership, planning, and troubleshooting skillsAbility to manage multiple plant locationsProficient in maintenance documentation and reportingPreferred Experience
