    Key Responsibilities

    Tax Compliance & Operations

    Review monthly Sales & Use Tax filings across multiple U.S. states and Canadian provinces, including gross tax receipts.Coordinate with external CPA firms for U.S. federal, state, and local income tax filings, extensions, and quarterly payments; review outputs for accuracy and policy compliance.Oversee international tax and statutory compliance matters, including coordination of statutory audits; validate inputs and review outputs for data integrity and quality.Review tax analyst work to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with business objectives.Partner with Finance, AP, and Treasury teams to ensure timely and accurate booking and tax payments.Collaborate cross-functionally to support tax setup, process design, and tax mapping for daily transactions.Monitor and review monthly transactional data for proper tax mapping and implement necessary corrections.Support external audits across jurisdictions in collaboration with Finance, Legal, and outsourced providers.Stay current with evolving tax regulations and assess business impact; report to leadership and drive required changes.Evaluate and enhance existing tax processes, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.

    Technology & Systems

    Leverage advanced Excel skills and ERP/tax systems (e.g., Workday, Avalara).Develop working knowledge of functional system design, integrations, and workflows.Review testing results for system enhancements and approve production rollouts for tax modules.Support new client implementations by ensuring tax compliance requirements are properly configured and operationalized within Pinnacle's systems.


    Qualifications

    Master's degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.Chartered Accountant or CPA (active and in good standing).Minimum 7 years of relevant tax experience, including U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance in a multinational in-house tax function or Big 4 firm.Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax regulations, with working awareness of international taxation frameworks.

    Pinnacle is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Tax Analyst to join our growing Tax & Compliance team. This is a high-impact role responsible for leading U.S. indirect tax compliance (Sales & Use Tax and Canada GST) while supporting global tax operations across multiple jurisdictions.


    This opportunity is ideal for a tax professional with strong U.S. technical expertise, excellent data and systems capabilities, and proven experience managing complex, cross-border compliance processes in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.


    Key Responsibilities

    Tax Compliance & Operations

    Review monthly Sales & Use Tax filings across multiple U.S. states and Canadian provinces, including gross tax receipts.Coordinate with external CPA firms for U.S. federal, state, and local income tax filings, extensions, and quarterly payments; review outputs for accuracy and policy compliance.Oversee international tax and statutory compliance matters, including coordination of statutory audits; validate inputs and review outputs for data integrity and quality.Review tax analyst work to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with business objectives.Partner with Finance, AP, and Treasury teams to ensure timely and accurate booking and tax payments.Collaborate cross-functionally to support tax setup, process design, and tax mapping for daily transactions.Monitor and review monthly transactional data for proper tax mapping and implement necessary corrections.Support external audits across jurisdictions in collaboration with Finance, Legal, and outsourced providers.Stay current with evolving tax regulations and assess business impact; report to leadership and drive required changes.Evaluate and enhance existing tax processes, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.


    Leadership & Process Excellence

    Ensure 100% timely global compliance and on-time delivery of all tax-related obligations.Maintain internal controls, tax calendars, and documentation to support accurate and timely filings.Develop, maintain, and enforce SOPs and departmental checklists.Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and automation to build a scalable and efficient tax function.Foster and maintain a service-oriented team culture.


    Technology & Systems

    Leverage advanced Excel skills and ERP/tax systems (e.g., Workday, Avalara).Develop working knowledge of functional system design, integrations, and workflows.Review testing results for system enhancements and approve production rollouts for tax modules.Support new client implementations by ensuring tax compliance requirements are properly configured and operationalized within Pinnacle's systems.


    Qualifications

    Master's degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.Chartered Accountant or CPA (active and in good standing).Minimum 7 years of relevant tax experience, including U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance in a multinational in-house tax function or Big 4 firm.Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax regulations, with working awareness of international taxation frameworks.


    Professional Profile

    Self-starter with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations.Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Strong analytical skills; able to interpret complex technical information and translate insights into business decisions.High attention to detail with strong reconciliation and accuracy capabilities.
