    Job brief


    A general manager/assistant general manager shall be responsible for supervising management of the company's backpacker hostel effectively. He/she shall be entrusted to effectively manage a 35-50-key hotel/hostel, overseeing multiple facets of operations, including front office, housekeeping, human resource management, F&B, guest experience, R&M & engineering, security & safety, etc., as per the company's standard operating procedures.


    Key responsibilities


    Understanding of the hospitality/hotel industry with extensive work experienceUnderstanding of the company's vision, business expansion plans, operational standards, etc.Understanding the nuances of managing a hotel under a brand network and optimizing its operations with a bird's-eye viewUnderstanding hotel pre-launch phase, day-to-day operations, etc.Understanding of various functions including front desk, housekeeping, F&B, engineering, etc.Supervising various functions and human resources (blue/white collar)Managing operational quality with attention to detail on various parameters such as infrastructure, services, staff, operations, etc. to ensure high service qualityHandling & resolving escalations and grievancesManaging P&L and cost-effectiveness while ensuring high service qualityMotivating, mentoring and aligning staffsLiaising with various departments such as local police, health/fire/safety departments, local vendors, etc. and ensuring a cordial relationshipCoordinating with other departments within the company to help resolve issues


    Qualifications

    Role overview


    The Content executive (visual)/ Graphic designer is responsible for conceptualising and producing high-quality visual content that brings The Hosteller's brand to life across digital and physical touch points. The role involves translating briefs and campaign ideas into compelling creatives, spanning social media, promotional materials, in-property collateral, and other branded assets.


    He/she will collaborate closely with the content, marketing, and brand teams to align design output with ongoing campaigns and communication needs. Beyond execution, the role calls for a proactive creative sensibility essentially staying ahead of visual trends and continuously elevating the quality and impact of The Hosteller's visual presence.


    Job responsibilities


    Conceptualise and execute visually engaging designs across social media, digital platforms, and marketing campaigns, ensuring every creative is on-brand and audience-appropriate.Develop illustrations and basic 2D animations that elevate storytelling and add depth to content across formatsApply strong fundamentals - typography, colour theory, and layout - consistently across all design outputs to maintain a cohesive visual languageWork closely with content and marketing teams to interpret briefs and translate ideas into effective, high-impact visualsActively contribute to campaign ideation and creative exploration, bringing fresh perspectives and design-led thinking to the tableMaintain and evolve brand asset libraries, templates, and design systems to ensure consistency across all touch pointsAdapt creatives for different platforms and formats, optimising based on technical specifications and performance insightsStay current with design trends, emerging tools, and AI-driven workflows, integrating relevant practices into day-to-day workManage multiple briefs simultaneously, prioritising effectively to meet deadlines without compromising on quality


    Qualifications


    Bachelor's degree in design, fine arts, visual communication or related fieldMin. 2 years of experience in graphic design or visual content rolesStrong skills in illustration, typography, layout and color theoryBasic to intermediate knowledge of 2D animationProficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or FigmaFamiliarity with tools like Procreate and After Effects is a plusWorking knowledge of AI tools for design workflowsStrong attention to detail, creativity, and execution ability Read Less
